A Wider Landscape - curated by Polly Townsend

The Alpine Club 13 September - 10 November 2022

Concerned with the continuing disparity of male/female artists within collections I curated  'A Wider Landscape'; a group show featuring works from the Alpine Club collection and seven contemporary artists. ‘A Wider Landscape’ looks at mountains through a female gaze, reinterpreting the Alpine Club’s renowned collection in an inclusive and modern light. The exhibition displays a wide array of mediums and styles, showing how women engage with mountain landscapes, how personal safety for women in remote landscapes affects their work, and responses to accelerating ecological & climatic change. Crossing Boundaries - curated by Polly Townsend

APT Gallery 19 - 30 October 2022

This exhibition presents a diverse group of contemporary female landscape painters, each innovating within the genre. The grouping of female painters directly addresses the significant gender disparity in this area of painting for centuries and up to the modern day. Further Information
